HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The price for the 60 minute flight experience is £700 inc VAT per person with a minimum 45 minutes airborne.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

In addition to your flight, you will receive the following benefits:

A full pre flight safety briefing.

The use of a flying suit.

The opportunity to bring along up to three non-flying guests.

The opportunity for you and your guests to look around our hangar and visitor centre which includes a cafe and gift shop.

A signed certificate.

WILL I BE SHARING THE FLIGHT EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER PEOPLE?

Yes. There will be a minimum of 4 participants for the flight to take place and a maximum of 5 participants per flight.

AM I ABLE TO TAKE THE CONTROLS?

No. Only the pilot and co-pilot have access to the controls.

WHEN CAN I FLY?

We fly from early March until Mid-November, on selected days including weekends and weekdays. We attempt to run two sessions per flying day(weather permitting), with briefings at 09:00 and 14:00.

ARE THERE ANY AGE, WEIGHT, HEIGHT OR MEDICAL RESTRICTIONS?

The minimum age to fly in the Huey Helicopter is 18. There are no minimum or maximum heights or weights.

You need to be physically agile enough to climb into and out of the aircraft and safely experience the flight - if you have any concerns over your suitability you should consult your GP. It is generally accepted that if you are fit enough to hold a driving licence you should be fit enough to participate in this activity.

CAN I BUY A FLIGHT AS A GIFT?

Yes. Gift vouchers are available and can be bought via the website. The recipient can then book with us and redeem the voucher.

HOW LONG SHOULD I ALLOW FOR THE EXPERIENCE?

Four hours is usually sufficient to cover briefings and the flight, but it is recommended that you make as much of the day available as possible to cover unforeseen delays such as weather.

Please allow plenty of time at the venue to cover pre-flight briefings, Q&A sessions with the pilot, photography time, and for any weather delays. .

DO I NEED TO BRING ANY SPECIAL CLOTHING?

You can arrive in normal everyday clothes. You will be kitted out with your own personal protective equipment consisting of a flight suit worn over your clothes. Please wear flat soled shoes which provide a good grip.

CAN I BRING FRIENDS AND FAMILY ALONG WITH ME?

Update due to Covid-19. Guests are now limited to 1 per passenger. This is to ensure we stay within the Government Guidelines.

CAN I BRING A SOMEONE IN A WHEELCHAIR?

Yes. The reception area has wheelchair friendly access and a disabled toilet. Wheelchairs can also access the outside covered viewing area. Most of the hangar is wheelchair friendly; however, there are stairs to the briefing room.

IS THERE A CAFE NEARBY?

Due to Covid-19 we will not be serving any food but will provide hot and cold drinks. There are various food establishments within a five minute walk/two minute drive of the Hangar.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

If your flight has to be postponed due to poor weather you will be offered an alternative date. We will attempt to contact you the day before your flight if the weather is looking unsuitable. If you hear nothing, please arrive at your scheduled report time.

CAN I CHANGE MY MIND?

Yes, If after watching the safety video and reading all of the SSAC factsheets you decide not to fly, then a full refund will be given.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE AIRCRAFT BECOMES UNSERVICEABLE?

If your flight has to be postponed due to a technical fault with the helicopter, you will be offered an alternative date or dates.

CAN I TAKE A CAMERA?

Yes you can take a camera or video camera on board but it must be securely fastened to you, either by a wrist strap or neck strap.

CAN YOU TAKE DEPOSIT OR CAN I PAY BY INSTALMENTS?

We are happy to announce you can now pay a £100 deposit to secure your booking, final payment must be made at least 4 weeks prior to your flight taking place. Credit and debit cards are accepted.

WHO ARE THE PILOTS?

We use a number of highly experienced pilots to fly our passengers. All our pilots hold an up to date licence and valid medical certificate. They come from a variety of backgrounds, both civil and military, but all share a great enthusiasm for flying this historic helicopter.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

IS THERE A DISCOUNT IF I BOOK MORE THAN ONE TRIP?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a discount. There is no saving to be made for multiple bookings.

CAN I SIT IN THE GUNNERS SEAT ON A FLIGHT?

Unfortunately not. This is due to Health and Safety reasons. You can have your picture taken in the seat on your Flight Day when the aircraft is stationary on the ground.
