A few months ago we were approached by Roy Bassnett from Myerscough College , our local agricultural college. Each year the college has an open day to promote the courses and qualifications that can be done there and they also raise money for local charities. Last year the students did a “muck spreading marathon” raising money for the North West Air Ambulance!
He had seen a short story on the BBC news about us and the huey, and had heard that we too raise money for the NW Air Ambulance. So he thought it would be a great idea if the huey could attend their show this year.
He had also approached the NW Air Ambulance and they too had agreed to attend.
Of course we agreed to go! However, Phil and Jo were away on holiday that weekend so Neil very kindly stepped in and offered to take the huey in. This seemed more appropriate anyway as Neil flies the NW Air Ambulance for a living!
Here follows a short report from Neil about the day;
“A beautiful sunny morning with an early start. We landed at Myerscough BEFORE the live stock arrived at the show. Landed around 8am ! 8 minute flight time from Wesham to Myerscough!
LOTS of people saw the machine up close and it went on ALL day!
The weather was good throughout and I gather from Roy that is was the best attended event there to date.
We departed after the event closed and the live stock had left the site. Again, 8 minute flight home. Two fairly full collection boxes for the Air Ambulance!”
And thank you too to Roy for inviting the huey!
